Quantitative aptitude remains one of the most difficult sections in the SSC CGL exam. Candidates often struggle to do well in the Quantitative aptitude section because of lack of practice or not able to keep up with the level of difficulty of this section.

Preparing for Quantitative Aptitude:

Quantitative aptitude is considered to be the most difficult and time-consuming part of the exam. Improve your expertise at important areas of the quantitative section. Important topics would be percentage, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, speed distance. There is one month for preparation. Divide the topics across 4 weeks and prepare accordingly.

  • Types of Questions: Moderate to difficult problems on Completing the series, Finding Missing/Wrong Term

  • Types of Questions: Moderate problems on LCM & HCF, Irrational or Rational Numbers, Proper steps should be followed to solve irrational to rational numbers

#14. Mixture problems

  • Types of Questions: To Make A Mixture From Two Or More Entities/Mixtures
  • Expected number of Questions:  0-1 Qs
  • Level: Tricky, and takes time to solve and lesser chances of solving correctly.

#15. Algebra

  • Types of Questions: Basic Linear Equations in one or two variables, Quadratic & Algebraic Identities are important. Remember all the identities
  • Expected number of Questions:  2-3 Qs
  • Level: Tricky, and takes time to solve and lesser chances of solving correctly.

#16. Geometry

  • Types of Questions: Problems related to Triangles congruency, Similarity theorems, Circle chords & tangent theorems, Co-ordinate geometry etc. Remember all the theorems.
  • Expected number of Questions:  3-4 Qs
  • Level: Tricky, and takes time to solve and lesser chances of solving correctly.

#17. Trigonometry

  • Type of Questions: Problems based on Trigonometric ratios and Identities, Height and Distance etc.
  • Expected number of Questions:  2-3 Qs
  • Level: Difficult to solve and takes time, unless you are well prepared.
