2) Rs. 18,000

3) Rs. 19,250

4) Rs. 18,500

5) None of these

__Solutions:__**1.**Both II & III is needed. It is very easy, so we are not giving any solution.

**2.**Cannot be determined even if we use all the statements.

**3.**Using statement II and III, we can find the number of students in second class and pass class only. As there is no link given between the first class and the other classes, we cannot find the number of students in first class.

**4**. Using Statement I:

^{A}/

_{B}=

^{2}/

_{3}

Using Statement II: A is 40% of total. So B is 60% of total amount invested.

^{A}/

_{B}=

^{40}/

_{60 }=

^{2}/

_{3}

Using statement III: A = 45000

Putting the value of statement III in any of the statements

I or II, we can find the amount invested in scheme B.

**5.**Using statement I and II we can find the area of the rectangle and using statement III we can find the cost.

**6.**Ratio of the work done by The Flash and Green Arrow = 4 : 5

Total key depressions done by Green Arrow

=

^{5}/_{9}× 576000 = 3,20,000
Green Arrow’s speed in key depressions per hour =

^{320000}/

_{8×5}= 8000

**7.**Total number of ways of selecting 4 children out of 8 =

^{8}C

_{4}=

^{8×7×6×5}/

_{1×2×3×4 }= 70

Number of ways of selecting 4 girls out of 5 =

^{5}C_{4}= 5
Required probability =

^{5}/_{70}=^{1}/_{14}**8.**Amount received by all the officers = 45 × 25000 = 11,25,000

Amount received by each clerk =

^{3}/_{5}× 25000 = 15000
Amount received by all the clerks = 80 × 15000 = 12,00,000

Total amount of profit earned = 11,25,000 + 12,00,000 =
23.25 lakh.

**9.**Let the cost price of the articles be Rs. 100

To earn a profit of 30% he labelled them Rs. 130.

After giving a discount of 10% the selling price of the
articles = 0.9 × 130 = 117

So, actual profit per cent =

^{(117 - 100)}/_{100}× 100 = 17%**10.**Salary in June 2011 = 22385

Salary in June 2009 =

^{22385}/_{1.1 × 1.1}= 18500Regards
