Daily Word List - Set 13

Hello and welcome to ExamPundit. Here is the 13th Set of Daily Word List.

1. Outnumber: be more numerous than.
Example: Women were outnumbered by men in the civil department of the university.

2. Uproot: pull (something, especially a tree or plant) out of the ground, move (someone) from their home or a familiar location.
Example:  The dynasty was uprooted by the valiant tribe.

3. Extravagant: being excessive or overdone.
Example: She always sent extravagant gifts to her daughter.

4. Petite: being small in size.
Example: The petite woman ordered with her arms crossed.

5. Scorn: a feeling of contempt for something or someone, a feeling of contempt or disgust for something.
Example: Though he did not mean to scorn the girl, his rejection came off as extremely offensive.

6. Gaze: a steady and intense look.
Example: Alex shifted a faintly amused gaze to Carmen.

7. Shrewd:  sharp or intelligent with practical concerns.
Example: Suresh gave Geeta shrewd look.

8. Anticipate regard as probable; expect or predict.
Example: It was uncanny the way he could anticipate trouble.

9. Caravan:  large covered vehicle.
Example: It is an important centre for caravan routes and has a considerable trade.

10. Chivalry: the medieval knightly system with its religious, moral, and social code
Example: I saw chivalry and flags of truce in 1805
